The conversation is made in conjunction with Eline McGeorge exhibition "As Spaces Fold, Companions Meet" which lasts until 21 February.

In «As Spaces Fold, Companions Meet», folds are a visual and thematic motif. The exhibition also refers to a science fiction inspired take on folded space, which allows fictional and actual characters to meet and be put together into new constellations across time and space. Alienation and hybridisation are reoccurring traits of the characters populating these works.

Eline McGeorge’s works span from abstraction, to concrete references and documentary. Democratic problems, environmental issues, feminist legacy and science fiction comprise McGeorge’s oeuvre. These themes are brought together through drawing, animation, collage, weaving and artist books, and a particular interest in folds, as mentioned above, pixels and weaving.

Maki Suzuki is a member of åbäke, a group of graphic designers, publishers and artists based in London. The group’s work concentrates on the social aspect of design and the strength that collaboration can bring to a project.
åbäke have worked with McGeorge designing some of her artist’s books and will collaborate with her on her forthcoming book following this exhibition.
The wax woman Fatima, is created by Åbäke and is currently on tour in the UK with The British Art Show 8. She gains knowledge from her encounters while travelling, such as her upcoming guest appearance in Oslo.
