In the sixth edition of the talk series Kunst og litteratur, visual artist Lotte Konow Lund is in conversation with author Mariken Lauvstad. Lauvstad has written the book Kampen om kunsten. Et forsvar for kulturens rolle i demokratiet (Res Publica, 2025), and the conversation took its point of departure in cultural policy, capital, and the role of art in contemporary society.
Mariken Lauvstad (b. 1983) is a theatre critic, cultural commentator, dramaturg, and educator, and a regular contributor to Klassekampen. Kampen om kunsten. Et forsvar for kulturens rolle i demokratiet is her first book.
