Performance and Conversation: Frid Ding and Elias Elvegaard
Thursday 26 June 18–20

In connection with Oslo Pride, young artists Frid Ding and Elias Elvegaard from TekstLab Inkubator will share performance-based works in progress. Their pieces exist at the intersection of visual art, text, movement, and sound. The evening will conclude with a panel conversation featuring invited guests.

TekstLab is an interdisciplinary development platform and a resource center for creative artistic processes and new productions. Frid Ding and Elias Elvegaard are part of TekstLab Inkubator – a talent development program for young creative and performing artists working in the independent arts field. The event is part of Oslo Pride and Skeive Scener, and is presented this year in collaboration with TekstLab and Oslo Kunstforening.

More information about the panel conversation will be announced closer to the event.

FRID DING: BRUNT HUS

What is a home? How do we map memories? Through sound, movement, and words, Frid Ding explores the connection to their father’s family. Brunt hus is a journey through childhood memories, experiences, and feelings of place and belonging.

ELIAS ELVEGAARD: CRUSHING MEMBRANE

Elias Elvegaard is interested in the dualities that exist in different nuances and perspectives, and is curious about what lies in the layer between opposites. In their own practice, they work extensively with the acceptance of free flow. Elias works intuitively and explores landscapes that move through many layers of varying thickness. Their expression often starts from sensory impressions, using various disciplines such as dance and movement, sound, video, and text.
