2026 i Oslo Kunstforening

Maritea Dæhlin
2026 is a special year for Oslo Kunstforening. We are celebrating the 190th anniversary of our founding as Norway’s first art association and exhibition venue. The anniversary will be marked with a rich program of exhibitions ranging from established and influential artists to new voices in the contemporary art field. 2026 will also feature an archival exhibition offering insight into our 190-year history, along with a varied program of performances, lectures, and talks.
The year has already had a spectacular start with the group exhibition Forestill deg at du faller, presenting new works by Per Christian Brown, Book & Hedén, Hege Nyborg, Helene Sommer, and Thorbjørn Sørensen. The exhibition runs through March 29.
Looking ahead, we are excited to present two major solo exhibitions – at the end of May, we open an exhibition with Danish-Filipino artist Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen, who will present both new and earlier works, in addition to a performance created especially for Oslo Kunstforening and the anniversary. In August, we launch the autumn season with an exhibition by Maritea Dæhlin, featuring new works and performances. The exhibition is a collaboration with Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum.
In April, we continue our collaboration with the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and present this year’s graduation exhibition by the bachelor students. This year we will also collaborate with the Ultima Festival and are delighted to host this year’s Photo Book Festival in September. In October, the exhibition Kaleidoskop opens, inviting users of Velferdsetaten i Oslos services to exhibit their artworks, and as always, we conclude the year with Sparebankstiftelsen DNB’s grant exhibition.
We are also proud to have entered into a collaboration with artist Ayman Alazraq on the project (Palestine–Norway Archive Unit), which is based in parts of our ground-floor premises. The (Palestine–Norway Archive Unit) is a living archival project that explores the long-standing relationship between Palestine and Norway through personal archives, film, artistic interpretations, and public programming. Talks, exhibitions, and presentations of the project’s development will be held in the space – more information to come.
Throughout this anniversary year, we will fill the entire building with art, encounters, and experiences. New collaborations and events will be announced on an ongoing basis – we hope you will celebrate with us!
