In connection with the exhibition where others had stepped there were traces in us featuring the artists Elina Waage Mikalsen and Melanie Kitti, Oslo Kunstforening invites you to a sculpture workshop on Monday 7 October from 18–19.30.

The workshop will be led by visual artist Solveig Ane Kirkaune Øksendal and will be based on the exhibition, which explores personal and collective memories, identity, and belonging, as the artists incorporate traditional craft techniques into a contemporary expression. Øksendal has developed a concept for the workshop where participants can create their own small sculptures. The materials used in the workshop will be air dry clay, and participants are asked to bring a personal item to incorporate into their sculpture. Examples could include a piece of fabric, a stone you picked up because it was beautiful, a paper cutout, or other everyday objects that have a story or personal significance.

No prior knowledge or skills are required to participate. The workshop is free, but registration is necessary. Spaces are limited, and members will be given priority.

Would you like to join? Please send your name and phone number to post@oslokunstforening.no.
