FAR VEL...

20.11.99 — 12.12.99

The last exhibition of the millennium at Oslo Kunstforening will be an exciting encounter with three female Finnish artists who all live and work in Oslo.

The three artists have created an exhibition that marks the end of this millennium and the beginning of the next — hence the title FAREWELL...

FARE WELL...

Don’t miss the last exhibition of the millennium at Oslo Kunstforening.

Artists Anna-Liisa Silenti, Påivi Laakso, and Sari Syväluoma have transformed the art association into a "magical place" to mark the turn of the millennium! A group exhibition featuring textile, sculpture, and painterly objects.

Påivi Laakso, Sari Syväluoma, and Anna-Liisa Silenti come from different parts of Finland and represent two different generations. Påivi and Sari come from Tomio and Oulainen in northern Finland and were born in the 1960s, while Anna-Liisa is from Helsinki in the south and grew up in the post-war years. All three have artistic educations from both Finland and Norway.

With the working title Lively, Textural, Sensual (Livlig, Stofflig, Sanselig), they have worked together and individually, based on the desire to blend very different expressions (design, arts and crafts, and visual art) and make them work as a unified whole. The goal is to create spaces with distinct atmospheres that evoke associations, stir the senses, and tell a story...

Together, the three artists have transformed the Kunstforening into a "magical place" for the final exhibition period of this millennium. Strange, fragile creatures in a tangle of plants and forms grow out of the walls, rise from the floor, or drip from the ceiling. The atmosphere is charged with light, sound, and magic.

PILEGRIMSMUSLINGER

In connection with the exhibition, the performance PILGRIMMUSLINGER will also be presented by artists Påivi Laakso, Sissel Berg, and Erikka Fyrand. Saturday, December 4th from 14:30 to 16:00 at Oslo Kunstforening

What do they want? Who are they? How does one relate to the ambiguous?
Did you miss our performance last Saturday? For the second and final time this millennium, you can encounter the Pilgrimmuslinger, three androgynous dark men, portrayed by visual artists Påivi Laakso, Sissel Berg, and Erikka Fyrand, at Oslo Kunstforening……..
