Anlaug Jakobsen
Skulptur

Anlaug Jakobsen works with both drawing and sculpture. At Oslo Kunstforening, she will exhibit 10–15 sculptures, mostly heads and torsos.
She works within what can be described as a traditional sculpting technique, using a live model as the starting point for both expression and form. The sculptures are modeled in clay, then a plaster mold is made, and finally the sculptures are cast in concrete. Jakobsen is also interested in making the work process visible in the finished sculpture. However, it is important that the final sculpture has an expression of its own, independent of the original model.
Jakobsen was born in 1953 and lives in Kristiansand. She was educated at the National Academy of Fine Arts (Statens Kunstakademi) from 1975 to 1979 and at the National College of Art and Design (Statens Håndverks- og Kunstindustriskole) from 1972 to 1975. She has participated in several group exhibitions, held a solo exhibition at Christianssands Kunstforening in 1982, and her work has been purchased by the Norwegian Arts Council, Kristiansand Municipality, and Christianssands Art Gallery.
