The exhibition opening will take place on Saturday, February 6 at 12:00 PM. The artists will be present, and there will be musical performances by the Oslo Chamber Orchestra (Oslo Kammerorkester) conducted by Peters Szilvay. The exhibitions will be open until January 31.

Simon Nicholas’ exhibition at Oslo Kunstforening consists of around fifty small works mounted together on one wall, as well as six large paintings. Nicholas is also currently exhibiting at Galleri F-15, and with these two exhibitions, he has the opportunity to present part of a series of works based on a fictional urban landscape. The series consists of a total of 40 large and 130 small paintings. Through the paintings, the viewer becomes an observer of the bustle of the big city.

Simon Nicholas was born in England in 1954 and has lived in Norway since 1986. He was educated at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo, the State Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul, Camberwell School of Art in London, and Bath Academy of Art in England.

Simon Nicholas made his debut in 1986 at Gallery Richard Pomeroy in London and has since held several solo exhibitions in both England and Norway, including at Bergen Kunstforening in 1987 and Philip Graham Gallery in London in 1993. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions both nationally and internationally. He has received a number of grants and is represented in the collections of Unilever Plc. (London), Grieghallen in Bergen, Bohuslandstinget in Sweden, Gothenburg Art Committee, Scandia Gothenburg, and Cleveland Art Gallery.
