Yngve Næsheim

Tresnitt og originalplater

09.01.99 — 31.01.99
Invitasjon

In Yngve Næsheim’s woodcuts, the interplay between the black surfaces and light incisions creates drama in the images. The motifs are landscapes, with and without figures—timeless, abstracted, yet still figurative and dramatic. He uses objects and moods to draw the viewer into the image, the story must be sought out by the viewer.

At the exhibition in Oslo Kunstforening, he will present original graphic plates, painted wooden boards worked with woodcut tools. By showing the original plates, he reveals what “disappears” during the actual printing process, and the works take on an almost sculptural quality. In addition to the original plates, he will show woodcuts, including 20 small graphic works assembled into one large image.
